Okay so in about 2 or 3 days I developed this bump on the very top of my butt crack/lower back...It is very very very sore right now...If I sit down I have to lean forward (almost to the point of my face touching my knee for it to even be bearable to sit down) I can't lay on my back, if I do lay on my back and turn over it is very painful for about 10 seconds.....The only time i'm semi-comfortable is when I'm standing up (which is still sore) or laying on my side.....I put some hemoroid (spelling?) cream on it thinking that maybe it's just a fluid build up and that it will go away....Today is def. the worse day (soreness wise)....Like I said, it was there about 2 days ago.....I did go running yesterday and I think that that irritated it.....Just wondering what this is and praying I don't have to go a doctor and that it will go away within the next couple of days....Thanks
edit: when I touch the bump it is very itchy/sore

Is this by your tailbone? Could be a Pilonidal cyst.

if you look at that picture, where it's absolutely horrible in hurting is where the Pelodial Dimple is....it's 4:26am right now and this is just unbearable pain...I'm not comfortable standing sitting or laying down....where this bump is is exactly where the Pelodial Dimple is

I JUST posted a very lengthy document about pilonidal cysts in another forum. I cannot type it all in again -- go search out my posts and you will find it. Read the info it contains.
IF -- and I am stressing IF -- you have a pilonidal cyst that is currently infected (sounds like it, based on the pain you describe), here's what will happen:
Unfortunately, the pain will get worse. The infection in the cyst will build up and grow. In a day or two, the cyst will drain out on its own. This will result in much foul-smelling fluid being released. The GOOD news is that the pain will end IMMEDIATELY when this happens.
You can facilitate drainage by taking hot sitz baths, which will help the infection raise to the surface where the skin is thinnest so it can drain easily.
You can also apply "Boil-Ease" or a similar product. This is a harmless topical application of "drawing salve," a thick, black substance that helps to "pull" the infection to the surface for drainage. This is not a miracle potion of any sort -- it may take a day or two to work. It is messy and will stain clothing. You will need to lightly bandage the area.
DO NOT squeeze it -- though the pain involved surely will make it impossible for you to even touch the surface of the skin. Let it drain on its own. The waiting game for this to happen is terrible, I'm afraid. Really sorry about that.
Find the most comfortable position for yourself. Usually this is laying on your side, though in many cases... NOTHING is very comfortable. But some positions are better than others. DO NOT sit directly on it, obviously.
If the pain is too much and you can't wait for it to drain by itself, or if you simply want to get it over with -- go to the doc or any emergency room and have it lanced.
When the infection is severe like yours may be, the lancing can be a bit uncomfortable at first. But it will be over very quickly and the relief from the pain will be INSTANT.
If you get a lancing, you will be given antibiotics. This will help reduce the chance of a second, immediate infection.
I know the pain this condition can bring. It can be excruciating and it can get worse than most folks can ever imagine. You do NOT want to live with this on a regular basis. You MUST get a diagnosis.
The cyst WILL ultimately drain on its own, but you have to go through a LOT of pain to get to that point.
If you let it drain on its own, I'd HIGHLY recommend you immediately go to a doc AFTER that happens if you cannot be convinced to go NOW. You want those antibiotics after it drains, whether it drains from a lancing or by itself.
SEE A DOC!
One final note -- if you look up my other post about these cysts, please understand that you are having an acute infection right now. The "home-remedies" for living with it that I included in the other post are for people who are NOT actively infected and in dire pain. DO NOT shave the area right now, antibiotic soaps will NOT help at this point, a coccyx cushion is going to be too painful to use, etc. The ONLY tip that can provide relief when suffering a flare-up is the HOT BATHS. Try that -- but otherwise, do NOT touch the area and mess around with it. Either see a doc or live with the pain a few more days and let it drain on its own.
Best wishes -- these things are little horrors, but they CAN be dealt with.
