well i went to the hospital and this lady was not very good.I gave her all my symptoms and she said it sounded like thyroid. she did notice the enlarged lympth node but after checking my body seeing nothing hat could cause it said not to worry about it .i did bring up what if it could be lymphomas and she said no that it really does not get to women. and that my symptoms don't seem to go with that. but she said if it is that it would def. show up on my cbc test. well my tests came back 1 hour later everything was normal except mch which was 31.7... the lab said that refered to my hemoglobin and that was very good. my mom who has to get iron transfusion said normal is 14 so how can 31.7 be good. anyways I am not sure what to do next. any suggestions

go to another doc..one who has good reputation. Those are NOT all thyroid symptoms, and women most certainly DO get lymphomas, and a blood test does NOT determine it..only a biopsy will.

I know that and you know that but the social worker who said she'd help me find a doctor that I can afford said she'd only help if they found something at the hospital.medicaid said if i quit work they'd help. which is out of the question. so i don't know what to do.my daughter is in out of riley childrens hospital right now which is costing some money. so i have no spare. i am scared lastnight while i was in the showered i cryed like a baby just to vent. it felt great but not knowing and knowing that i can't come up with money to pay a real doctor is scareing me. thanks for listening - kat-

normal range for mch is 27.0 -34.0 so 31.7 is good . Hemoglobin range is 11.5-15.0. Did they tell u any other results? Ill tell u the range. Im not a doctor my lab reports have a reference interval on them so thats how I know.Im assuming that the blood test ruled out the thyroid so what did she say it could be? I would keep my eye on the enlarged node for a while to make sure it doesnt get bigger. Dont keep touching it though because that tends to aggravate them and keep them from going away.

ask them for a copy of the test results so if u go 2 a doctor u can bring them. Blood tests are a great indicator of a lot of diseases but unforunately they dont show everything. Why dont you post ur symptoms under general health and see if somethere can help u figure out whats wrong. Also u can go the post about health ins issues and maybe someone there can give u information on finding a doctor if u have 2 go to one.Good Luck

find a family member or church or friend or someone who will be a liason for you with the social worker or help you to pay for an independent doc visit yourself.

You DEF have a lot of the symptoms for lymphoma, and if you make a computer printout of the symtoms and diagnosis of lymphoma and take that with you, SOMEBODY should listen, it is irrisponsible of them not to. even try legal aid to see what they can do, or a crisis hotline..pastor..ANYBODY.

Please keep a positive attitude as I know you are scared and have a lot going on with your child..but you need to stay strong for your kids and yourself. I know you will be fine, but you need to find out what is going on so that you can take proper care of it.

Remember, the squeeky wheel gets the oil. Even go to a reporter, or news station about your problem. Tell those social workers etc, in a nice but firm way that you expect good responsible care, and that you will even sue to get it if you have to. It would not look good for them if they ignored your obvious symtoms and did not at least do a few more trough tests to make certain, and then it turned out that you did have something that they ignored.
