View Full Version : swollen neck gland and poison ivy?

while doing some construction inspections i developed poison ivy. i am very sensitive to it and need only a tiny bit for it to spread on my body. around the same time, i noticed the glands at the base on my neck (left side above the collarbone) were swollen. one bigger one and a smaller one. these are painless, movable, and not discolored.

i obtained some steroid pills for my poison ivy and asked my doctor if the swollen glands could be related to poison ivy and if the steroids may help them to shrink. he said he did not know a a correlation but that i could wait a few days to see what happens. i am currently in my second day and they seem a bit smaller.

anyone else have experience with this? if they do not shrink in the next few days i will go in for a chest x-ray.

thanks!
