Is the main cause of tmj grinding ones teeth? I know a bad bite can be a cause but do the majority of people with TMJ grind their teeth at night. TIA

mine is from clenching when im sleeping and stressed and missing all my bottom teeth bar on on the left the one i have left has actually fallen over now because theres nothing holding it up!!

so mine is caused by over use of the muscles on the right because i eat everything on the right side, my cheak muscle is very well developed on this side so is my neck muscles you can see the diffrence just looking close up

In my case, bruxism is absolutely the prime culprit. What triggered the bruxism? Orthodontics when I was 13.
