Ladies,
My husband and I have been conteplating starting a family- I'd like to hear how you/your body adjusted to pregnancy. I'm nervous, but I'm also afraid to wait until I'm older, as it seems like dealing with the fibro is not getting any easier. Thanks for your help. :)

hey latte, before i got pregnant with my second child that is when my fibro had gotten bad. i was already taking pain meds and anti depressants. you know the usual, anyway as soon as i found out i was pregnant of course i was scared because of the meds i was on. when i went in for my 1st ob appt. i talked to my doc about my situation. she told my to go ahead an wean off all the meds so i did. soon after the pain in neck, back and shoulders kicked in pretty bad.
i tried to deal with it using ice and where i was working at the time there was a chiropractor who would give me adjustments pretty regularly. some days the pain was even to bad for that so when i went in to see my ob on one appt i talked to her and she recomended pt. and using one of the exercise balls. she also went ahead and prescribed me flexeril for muscle pain. that along with tylenol really helped with the pain. i still had some bad pain days and on those days i would just take it really easy and try to rest. it was pretty hard sometime because i was so use to taking stronger pain meds but i thought about my baby and that really helped mentally. in my 8th month i got huge and sometmes the pain in my back was unbearable so i would get all the pillows in the house and put them on the bed leaving a big whole in the middle for my belly and lay on my stomach. the pillows helped so i would not be laying directly on my stomach and relieve my back pain. how funny huh.
my husband use to laugh at me and i would tell him that he should try carrying a baby being 5 foot with a bad back and see how it feels on his body. lol.
a couple months after my daughter was born i went back to my pm doc and started back on my treatment.
hope this helps. personally i really wanted another child so the pain was well worth going through. i am sure glad i did it when i did because the fibro has gotten so much worse and i had to stop working.
well good luck on your decision and let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Robin!
You sure did help. Thank you so much for responding...that is exactly what I was/am looking for...personal stories. :)
April- no, no kids yet...which is why I'm curious and asking for opinions/stories.
