I guess I learned a good valuable lesson here. I'm guessing you had a blood test. Has it been 4 months since your last "exposure"? If not, the blood test results won't be 99% accurate until that much time has past. If it has been long enough...then congrats, and count your lucky stars that you don't have this damn disease! I'm clean as a whistle and thank god for that. Piece :D new_to_this 03-18-2005, 05:25 PM No need to try to scare me unlucky guy! It has been way longer than 4 months. I'm clean as a whistle and thank god for that. Piece :D Yeah, and keep it that way by making sure you don't ever hook up with someone who has genital herpes...no matter how much you like em. It just ain't worthit. Later! Audrey-B 03-19-2005, 09:14 PM Firstly CONGRATULATIONS to you Angel :) I wish more people would get tested so they will know where they stand, rather than posting messages on here for ages and ages as herpes is not one of those black & white cases where someone on a message board can say 'oh yeah, you have/dont have it for sure'. Always get a swab and/or blood test. Angel, hope you have learnt lots of valuable info on here and wishing you a happy and healthy life :) new to this..........i met someone who had herpes type 2 and caught it off him, i can't speak for the future as you never know what's around the corner, but i'm more than happy to be with him, herpes and all. I accepted the fact that i caught this and i accepted him. Life is like that sometimes and we'll never know exactly why, you just have to make the best of any given situation. The thing with herpes is that it's there for life and you have to learn how to manage it, not having it manage you. A lot of people on these boards are doing this via taking on a much healthier lifestyle, not allowing stress/anxiety into your life, taking vitamins and natural supplements. I find the best thing for me has been the continous usage of the garlic gel capsules and even applying the garlic oil onto the sore prior to it appearing, when it's still in the itching/tingling phase and this i believe has kept the ob for actually occuring. I have also altered my already reasonably healthy eating habits to even healthier and making certain i get more sleep/rest/relaxation and i'm still considering doing one of those detox programs. The thing with hepres, for most of us, is that you can't just carry on as per the way we did before. Unfortunately life changes and therefor you have to make changes and adjustments. Some days will be awful true, but most people on here have those sorts of days at some stage, but you have to not let this virus beat you into focusing on how 'life isn't worth it'. Take care ok and dont be afraid to vent on here. It's healthy to let things out, rather than keeping them inside. |
