Hello. I recently noticed a lump on my neck and saw my doctor, who referred me to an ENT. The ENT determined that it was an enlarged lymph node that measures 1.5 cm. He put me on Biaxin (antibiotic)and I am to return in one week to have it checked again.

I have been on the antibiotic for just over a week now and the lymph node has not decreased - if anything, it seems to be slightly larger.I have also noticed a tiny hard bump just above this area.

Is it typical or at least not unusual for enlarged lymph nodes to not respond to antibiotics and be nothing serious? What will the next step be? I think the ENT mentioned a CT scan but did not say much else.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
