Has anyone ever got laser hemroid surgery for their internal hemroids? My GI said that its post op is not nearly as bad as the other surgeries and that I would not have to take off from work afterward. He mentioned there would be discomfort going to the bathroom directly after the surgery.

What is your experience?

You know it's funny - I have heard that laser surgery is less painful and I have also heard that there is no difference in pain and that it is just as painful as the traditional surgery. Now, as far as you being able to return to work the next day, in my heart of hearts, I think that is a bit optimistic. I had the PPH procedure done which is the least painful of all of the surgeries and I would not have been able to go back to work for a week at least. I really think that you should get a second opinion on this one because you do not want to go through this unprepared and thinking that you will experience little pain and be able to endure a full day of work right after. I really think that anyone on this board would agree with me.

Like I said - PLEASE get a second opinion regarding the laser surgery.

Please keep us updated. Especially if you do go through with it. I would love to hear how everything turned out.

Good luck to you :)

Dana
