I felt like I got an ant bit on my lip, srugged it off "whatever" a while later I looked in the mirror and I can and still am able to just SEE it getting LARGER!
This is freaking me out! I called somebody I know whos a nurse and they said just take some benadryl and you should be fine. I'm freaking out!
My lip feel like its about to BURST OPEN! It also tingles and kinda burns. I'm really scared!
Its to late at night to go to a DR, but I really want to see my DR and KNOW that somebody "trained" has looked at it and can give me an idea to why my lip looks like donald duck this is freakin' wierd!
Also, MODS, if there is a more approriate place for this post, please move it! This is the only place I could find that is sorta makes sense to put this post! Thanks :)

Take some benedryl and put some cortizone on it. If you start to feel short of breath or anything go to the ER right away, as you could be having a severe allergic reaction.

I would say an allergic reaction as well, but I havn't be around anything odd. Which is really wierd. I can't find anything on the net that looks similar to my lip.
It doesn't itch, or anything, so i'm not sure how its hives :/ Cuz arn't hives itchy? Just really wierd. I search "hives" and "giant hives" and "types of hives" on AOL I didn't see anything. BUt i'llkeep trying.
That same thing happened to me once when I was away for an overnight with my daughter. my lip started to swell as soon as we got to our hotel room & was gone the next morning. No hives no itching just puffy lip!!! Wierd. i dont know what caused mine but I have had 3 severe reactions in the past 4 yrs with hives & all but this time with the lip it was just the lip. I always carry benydryl with me now.

I have had chronic hives for some time but the past year has had some facial swelling and usually starts out as a numb feeling in the lip and then it becomes swollen moving from one side of the lip to the other facial swelling then eyes..I found and searched about Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome. I am also going to test to see if I am allergic to yellow dye/ or red dye.

I have had a similar allergic reaction a few times. Both my lips swelled up to twice their normal size. They were itchy first before they became swollen. I took some phenergan (an antihistamine) tablets and by the next morning, the swelling had gone down completely. Other times I've had the same reaction but my hands and feet have swelled up aswell. At first they are itchy and then they swell and become sore to touch. One time my Mum had to take me to hospital but they couldn't figure out what I was allergy to. Then last year, I got the same reaction after taking doxyclycline (a type of antibiotic that doesn't contain penicillin) so at least I know I'm allergic to that.
