I am new to this so please be patient with me. I am wondering if my chronic pain could be fibromyalgia. I have chronic back pain which is always in my lower back (have disc problems) but also have all over body aches for no reason I can come up with, pain in most joints, fingers and toes, generaly flu like symptoms. I have IBS, GAD, and social phobia. I am ashamed to tell all the drugs I take to function. Just recently switched to Cymbalta from Effexor, I take 2 to 3 Darvocet everyday, sometimes Soma, Klonopin, and still don't get relief from the pain sometimes. I have read about the terrible pain that some fibro sufferers have and I mine is not to that extent. Anyone have an thoughts on all this?

I am sorry to hear your suffering, I would think a request to see a Rhuematologist is the best advice I can give, they are most capable of knowing if you have FM or a different condition. I think the problem with FM is that it's symptoms mimic other conditions, and vice versa, so it can be time consuming to narrow down a dx. Good luck, I hope you will soon have a name for the cause of your suffering.
