After having high risk unprotected sex, 20 minutes later i thought i had HIV. I freaked out from day one. Then a week later i got canker sores in my throat, and of course told myself i was screwed.

Two weeks after it happened i was tested with the person i had the unprotected sex with... Both negative.

I have had a PCR test done at 42 days. (negative).
An ELISA done at 70 Days. (negative).
And will have a rapid test done tomorrow @ 90 days. (wish me luck!).

Do you guys think there's a chance i may still have HIV? Wish me luck, i really need it...

A pcr test is very accurat after 2 weeks after exposure . The virus when it first enters the body replicates to massive numbers almost a million when the immune system responds its able to cut the numbers down and control the virus for many years . A pcr is used to measure the viral load in a positive person and would a great advantage at detecting viral protiens .
It sounds like you're ok but nothing is 100% for certain .
Test at 3 months and if you're stressed test at 6 months just to set you're mind at ease ;)
I'm sure you're fine tho .
Good luck ..........

Thank you lost spirit. I am negative at the three month mark. I feel a little better now, and plan to get back to the way life used to be.

I will of course test @ six months to confirm though. I wish anyone in my position the best of luck, and pray that we all have better judgement next time. :-)
