about 18 months ago i noticed a lump on the back of my neck on the hairline i left it alone and forgot about it then about 6 weeks ago i noticed anothe swollen node about 1 inch above my collarbone i got worried and went to my doctor who told me that they were swollen lymph nodes but he didnt think they were cancerous as he felt them, but he said it could be due to a scalp infection but i havent had any infection not to my knowledge anyway. 2 weeks ago i noticed another node above my second one now im getting really concerned, i have not had any of the symptons of lymphomas no itching or night sweats nothing other than some infected hair follicles which i saw my doctor about at the same time which were on my shoulders and he thinks its all connected to an infection but im not sure as i read that alot of doctors just use this as an easy explanation and give u penicillin which he did and it did nothing. Anyway are these first signs or is there a simple answer, i hope anyway.

I suggest you get a second opinion.
The same situation has happened to me.
I visited about 3 doctors (ENT,INTERNAL MED,SURGEON),
they all told me not to worry about it and that it doesn't seem like a big problem.

I've swollen lymphnodes all over my neck, above my collarbone, etc. It started appearing since 3 years ago. I've had countless bloodworks done, which came back fine. Also I've had HIV tests,CT scan, chest x-ray and fine needle aspiration biopsy. Which all came back pretty normal. So I'm very frustrated with this whole situation.

I'm havent visited a MD for a while now. I guess it's because I don't have insurance.but I'm planning on visiting this comming Saturday, because I'm not feeling so good these days (the lymphnode above collarbone worries me).

The best thing to do is a biopsy in my opinion.
You should atleast get some sort of x-ray or scan.
Also a complete blood count would be ideal.

I sorry I can't give you much of an advice since I still haven't figured my problem out yet. =(

Good luck

I would agree that the best way to confirm what these nodes really are is to get them biopsied. I have swollen nodes in my neck, under my arms and along my bikini line. Tons of them!! I had blood work done, HIV testing and a cat scan. Everything came back negative. Included in the blood test, the oncologist tested for traces of Leukemia and Lymphoma in the blood and those both came up negative. Thank the Lord for that. He basically has told me to keep an eye of them and make sure they are not increasing in size. I haven't been back to see the oncologist since Feb. The woman in the office are so rude I do have to go back tho.

Like I said if you're extremely concerned and want some peace, get the biopsy done. A man that I work with got one done and of course everything was ok but it eased his mind tremendously.

Good luck to you. I'll keep you in my prayers.
