I have some itching issues in my armpits. Not sure if it is related to myt deoderant or not. I am using some that I get at the health food store, so I would think it would be good to use. Maybe not. It feels extra itchy [thus feels good when scratching] when in the shower and washing under my arms. I wonder if my soap is the problem. Maybe it is too perfum-ish.
Any advise?

I think you've figured out probable causes. I had almost forgotten, til seeing your post, all the years my armpits itched, too. Plus there was a constant skin rash just in front of each armpit. Doctors prescribed steroid creams that never entirely got rid of it.
Finally I stopped deodorant, switched to BASIS Vitamin Bar soap for my body. (I washed under my arms twice a day while I wasn't using deodorant.) Eventually my skin went back to normal. Now I'm fine using Clinique roll-on deodorant. It has no added fragrance. As you suspect, fragrances don't agree with sensitive skin.

Thanks for the reply, white dove. So, where do you pick up this soap, and what does it cost? Also, what does the clinique deoderant cost? May have to try these products.

Hi Light, Your quick response was an unexpected delight.
We ask our pharmacy to order BASIS Vitamin Bar by the case. It costs a couple dollars a piece that way. Some pharmacies or grocery stores carry it. Clinique deodorant costs about $7-$8. There must be other fragrance-free deodorants OK for sensitive skin. But since I found one that works for me, I don't try others. I'll be interested in what works for you. Thanks!

Thanks again, white dove. My wife happens to work in a pharmacy. Maybe she can get some of the BASIS Vitamin Bars. :)
Anyone else have a deoderant that helped their underarm itchies?
