When I was 14 (I am 24 now), I was injured under my chin which caused my node there to swell up and get tender. I became really obsessed about touching it (about 30 times a day) and soon I began to feel all over my neck for other swollen nodes. W/in two months, I had "found" a few other ones that were slightly large, one on the back of my neck left side under hairline, two on both sides under the ear and behind the jaw joint, one on front of neck close to chin on right, and a couple smaller but still bigger ones under chin. I never stopped touching these things for years. Doctors seemed to think I was fine (reactive hyperplasia, scar tissue), I almost never get sick, can't remember the last time I had a fever (really young), no other symptoms aside from some real mild IBS ones, nodes are not larger than an inch and only one on back of neck feels really hard and fixed (that one is largest at about 2 cm). They have not gotten larger in at least the 5 or 6 years that I can remember....so what I want to know is if anyone else has had this reactive hyperplasia issues before and if after 10 years, I can finally rule out anything more serious. I feel in my heart that I am OK, but sometimes hypochondria kicks in (A friend of mine was recently diagnosed w/the rarest form of lymphoma out there, extrememly aggressive got him bed ridden w/in days of mutation) so I just want some insight. Thanks!

PS they do get really sore when I have a cold and swell up a bit more, but go down to ":normal" when the virus is gone. Sometimes one will flare up on its own when I do not feel sick, but then it will go back..I was also told I had some problems w/the drainage in my ears since i was young, could this factor in any way as lymph nodes serve a draining function?
