I used to... average of a case of diet cola per day. It has been years but I have no doubt of it's long term effects. However, this is beyond normal intake levels .

Yes......I drink probably 100 oz a day of Diet Coke. I know it's supposed to be bad for me, but it's such an innocent vice! ;)

I stopped drinking soda when I heard it's bad for fibro. The caffeine, sugar and aspartame are supposed to increase pain levels and anxiety. To be honest, I do feel better since eliminating it from my diet.

I don't drink diet pops, but I do drink the regular. Can't be good for anybody's body.

I would be interested in reading that article , since I am a diet pop drinker. Was it on the web?

Hi.

I also read somewhere, or someone who is familiar with FM told me to stop the diet sodas as it is "toxic" for us Fibromites. I imagine that just like any thing else that has "chemical" in it would cause FM to be more aggrevated. So, I don't drink them any longer, either. I don't remember if I read an article about this or not, but I'll be you can find some info about it on the Net. Take a look see. I get so much info from my computer, some of it is contradictory for sure, but it get's your grey matter churning.

So, no, I don't think diet soda is good for FM, probably not good for anyone really.

My mom has FM and she read an artical that said the aspertain in diet drinks have bad effect on FM. It is toxic when it reaches 80 degrees. I think she said that it turns into amonia in you system. This is with all artificial sweetiners that have aspertain in them.

UGH! That's sounds awful! Good info! I had heard that the sweetener Splenda isn't good for you for that exact reason.

thanks for the info dixie!
