Can post nasal drip be a symptom of something more severe? I mean besides the usual allergies or what have you. I've had post nasal drip for over a year which has slowly progessed to an enlarged tonsil with, what I've heard as being called, tonsil stones coming out of it and later on the same side, an enlarged lymphnode which is larger sometimes than others, on the same side. The family doctor didn't make a big fuss and treated me with antibiotics and antihistamines and nasal sprays like it was a sinus infection that resulted from allergies but the treatment didn't help and they said they could refer me to an ENT DR. Should I be worried?

Hi jle 180
I too have suffered with post nasal drip for a couple of years now and it has gotten to the point where it has caused my glands to swell up. I have been diagnosed several times with allergic rhinitis and given nasal sprays and allergy pills with no relief. I am seeing an ENT next week for the first time because I now have severe ear pain and pressure along with the drainage and the swollen glands.
If you went to the ENT- were they able to help you?
