I have some symptoms of IBS but i am so afraid it Colon Caner. I have and endoscope and colonoscopy coming up on monday to help find out for sure what it is.

I have been VERY Stressed out for 3 months conviced that i am dying non stop and cannot stay off the internet looking for symptoms of varius cancers.
anyways several weeks into this my stool started changing, i started having little pieces instead of big pieces, and the color varied from normal brown to yellow to green. it was sometimes a little muccusy this went on about 3-4 weeks then thing kinda returned to normal after i had other tests done on my thigh and hip where i thought i had cancer. I started eating normal and feeling normal and then things got bad again. I was now sure my fiance had breast cancer because of a lump she had found. so became extremely stressed again and my bowels started acting up again, i strated having diareah once a week for the next month and the color variation started again. after each episode od dieareah i would take an immodium ad and then have a constipated feeling bowel movement the next day. on the second time after diareah and immodium AD and difficult BM i had some light blood on stool. I freaked out and went to the doctors and the DR felt around my stomach and when he pressed my lower left abdomen it hurt. and he checked for hemroids and and said i have two internal roids that were bleeding a little.anyways now two weeks later i have not had normal BM without metimucel and they smell bad and float. also i have been constantly burping for a week. my entire left side now hurts and my right hurts a little also. I feel bloated and gassy.

WWWM,

It's times like this that I wish I had money to bet. If I did, I'd lay it all on you having good results with your colonoscopy! :)

Stress can play havoc on your body, especially your bowels and you have certainly been stressed out lately. Glad you're getting the colonoscopy so you can put your mind at ease. In the interim, I might suggest that you don't surf the internet until you know what problem you have, if any. I've been there and done that and trust me, you're only stressing yourself even more which is causing more bowel problems.

Try to focus on the positives in your life until the colonoscopy...you don't have hip or thigh cancer and girlfriend is o'kay too, right?

Take care and we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Let us know the results of the colonoscopy.

One more thing.....look forward to the drugs you're going to get for the colonoscopy.. you can't beat them! :)

WWWM,

Please try not to worry...you will soon have your answer...

There was 2 things I used to worry about constantly. The first...being audited by Internal Revenue and the second...husband or me developing cancer. Well, 30 years ago that dreaded letter came through the mail and the audit turned out to be a piece of cake. For my second worry, cancer...in August of 2004 husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Small tumor that was removed and hasn't come back as of last cystoscope in February. That first week was the pits...we felt like we had been kicked in the stomach. But, after that, it was o'kay....we aren't going to lay down and play dead...we have our lifes to live and we're going to make the most out of it! In the end, we realized family and friends took it worse than we did. But now they take the attitude we have!

I really, really, really don't think you have anything to worry about but "worry itself". The fact that you think it may be cancer and are doing something about it by getting the test done leads me to believe that IF, and that's a big IF, you do have cancer, then you too will find the strength and courage to deal with it and this may sound weird, but you will be stronger because of it! There's just too many wonderful things happening in the world of medicine now days...just ask the many, many, many colon cancer survivors! :)

Take care and please let us know the results of your tests....we'll give you Monday night off because you will be sleeping like a baby, but you better get yourself out of bed Tuesday am with a report! :bouncing:

Cathy

P.S. And, again, QUIT surfing for now! :nono:
