Hello:

I have had this constant nagging thing goign on and would love some of oyur thought sfeelings. My symptoms have been going on for almost 2years now...When reading onFMS i saw a chart 18 points they check...my pain discomfort ahs been in all 18 and basically in them alone.. here is the thing..most of my pain, numbness, flu like feeling, tingling tends to be in presure point areas. I also was wondering for me I have pain every day per say but not in same spot..although sometimes it is the same spot for a week or two.. I am tired alot, have trouble sleeping, etc.

Next question FMS iwas reading in 40-70 % of peole ends up in IBS.. do any of oyu have this? Majority of my symptoms and pain are under edge of rib cage, top of shoulder blades, directly behing my rib cage in my back, in my neck etc.

Hear is waht stinks this has been going on for so long and you knwo there are days I just felike I can not function....very hard as I am a active go getter and always have been

My sister was diagnosed with FMS and my mom was also checked out one point told not FMS buty that she had a musculkar myopathy..

I am stinking here at asking my question, but basically I was wondering do any of you have the digestive pains symptoms or pains dicomfort in the area around your rib cage? I have also had cardic symptoms..chest pain etc..but tends to be more upper or down deep in left side of my pectoralis..have had some cardiac testing dome all clear and a okay Thank goodness..but was reading that if you type alot sit alot FMS can gave cardiac symtoms as well

boy this is getting long..okay so at any rate again when I look at the FMS chart as to 18 trigger point areas..those are all places I have pain, it may move..most days it is in maybe 1-3 of those areas..but have pain evry day..tends to stay in my left side tends to satay under rib cage, upper left shoulder/neck area/neck muscle/ directly in back/ sometimes in joints right behind my kness..

I have found as well that if I press hard wher eit is hurting and get deep down by presure point that it helps..also have noticed after an attack that I feel very bruised like the muscle is bruised or like I have just worked out for ten days straight and no recovery time

this has stunk stunk stunk i am now 2 years into this, and no relief nor diagnosis, and currently without health insurance which complicates things...

does nay of this sound familiar to any of you? any thoughts

oh yes ironically this started two years ago with pain in the left groin area inside groin muscle area

thanks for tkaing time to read al lthis and anythoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I get the pain in the rib cage area a lot. Mine is in the left rib cage, in the lower part.

I get the constipation more than the other.

When I get those darn "knots" popping up, I also press and massage them deep down and they eventually calm down and go away for awhile.

My psychologist told me yesterday that it is classic for someone w/fibro to go to the dr's telling them that one day they'll have pain "here", and the next day they will have pain in a different spot.

If you have really bad pain in a certain spot one day, you need to think about what you did the day before. One morning at the beginning of my journey w/fibro my chest, arms, shoulders were soooo stiff and painful. Then I remembered that I had made a pie the day before. Rolling out the crust is what did it!! I couldn't believe how just making a pie effected my body!!

I can't tell you if you have fibro, but your story sounds very familiar.

Hi...I've had FMS for at least 16 years and I think you'll find that you will have a lot of add-ons as time goes on. I have several friends that have FMS that also have IBS. I also have IBS/D.

I'm trying to recover from a flare and I have the pain in the side that you describe. Mine is under my right breast and goes around to the back. Boy, feels like I was on the losing end of a fight.

As time goes on it gets harder and harder for me to do just everyday things. I look back on things I could do just a few years ago and it's hard to believe that it was me. I also have arthritis, Sjogrens (might be spelled wrong), CFS, TMJ, MFP and who knows what else.

Have you seen a doctor about this?

Another thing I wanted to add is that people like us that have FMS tend to think that every pain we get is FMS related. I have a dear friend that has FMS and she was having pain on her left side that went into her shoulder and up into her jaw. She thought it was FMS but when the pain got worse she went to the hospital. She was having a heart attack. Now she has to undergo triple bypass surgery. So anyone that is reading this please if you have pain like that so to the hospital. I would have been one to have put it off to FMS but it can be very dangerous if we do. Better to go to the hospital just to find it was the usual pain then to stay at home and die. I'm sorry if I sound like a "know-it-all". I'm not and don't want to come across that way. I just want to help.

Soft hugs

Thanks for the advice Fuzzy!! I get the pain in the lower left rib cage area. Sometimes when I lay down it feels like something trying to poke out of my rib cage. Then at times when bending down to pick something off the floor I'll get a quick stabbing pain in the same place. I think my family dr has put this down to panic attacks!  Yeah, I always get panic attacks from picking something up from the floor. :nono:

I get lots of pain in my bottom left rib, especially when it is gonna get nasty outside (I can always predict the weather! ;) )

I also have what me and my mom and my doctor think is IBS, but I'm going through tests right now to real out infections and other things before she dx's me. I have major pain right above my belly button and it's really bubbly and gurgly and sometimes it feels like everything is "rushing through" if you know what I mean. And then, of course, lots of diarrhea.

Oh yes, and I have chest pain often too.
