I wrote on this board about a month ago about my father. My father got a blood cloth in his eye and lost 20% of his vision, he went to the doctor and they found that his artery in his neck was blocked, only giving his left brain half very little oxygen and blood. So he went in for surgery and they removed it. My father got way better and felt better than ever.
Went about his normal life and then the doctors called him back and they just wanted to do some preventitive strengthing of a slight anoerism(SP?!). So they did this lapriscoptially(sorry dont know the proper spelling) either way, thru a small hole and the surgery was supposed to take 1.5 hours. When they went in they found that his artery to his kidneys were blocked, so they decided to fix that as well. Well because of this the surgery took 7 hours and my dad got a heart attack on the surgery table and he got a blood cloth in his leg as well from this.
So because of this they couldn't put him under anymore because of his heart attack. So they tried to do some quick fixes on his leg with out putting him under. And the swelling didnt go down so they couldnt "put stitches" in because of the swelling. So they gave him painkillers for a week and he was in extreme pain. And then his body started retaining water and he couldn't breathe. So they put him on a respirator and then he got stroke as well and he left the feeling of half his body. And they had to have him sleeping 23 hours a day because of the respirator. He lost the ability to talk or write, but he could nod and give signs. That is the long story
UPDATE:
Now 1 months later my dad has gotten his feeling back on the left side of his body from the stroke completely. He still has problems breathing, they have him on respirator on and off. The problem is this. He is not acting normal.
He told his wife that she was a fat cow and he hated her. Which is not true at all(I know my dad), my dads wife has been by his side every day. And he is seeing things, they now put in a phone for him to use and he calls my sister 2-3 times a day and says weird things, he called 911 because his bed is on fire etc.
Now my wife says that her mother had a heart attack and they put her on heart medications and she acted exactly the same way, she said that the medication makes your braincells disconnect and missfire and makes you see things. While telling this to my sister she said "nooo I think it is the stroke"
The doctors are not concerned at all, they act like nothing is wrong. So what is up?
