continued from previous thread. Two medics examined me did blood tests and x ray could hardly walk. My vision too was so blurry could hardly see coloured blobs with eyes open as well lips very swollen. By face is very thin anyway so the swelling may not have looked as extreme as it was. They sent me home as outpatient saying i would have internal scans and appointment with a rheumatologist and that they could not diagnose me. told me to keep off antihistamine and take ibuprofen.
for first week at home could hardly see and face very swollen all the time. When swelling went down i would look deathly hollow instead. extreme pain in arms legs rheumatoid pains everywhere. chills too i would be freezing in a boiling room. difficulty walking. i did not sleep for a week because of the pain. also extreme nervousness and mental confusion. this went on for three or four weeks. The pain felt so bad that i wanted to kill myself or wanted someone to put me out of my misery. i felt like an animal needed to be put down. Intermittant doc appointments did not know what was wrong. i felt it was an emergancy situation but noone was doing anything. my rheumatologist appointment was 17 weeks away so booked to see her privately. she said like all the other docs i was very very ill but they did not know what was wrong? she gave me beta blockers for nerves and sleeping tablets. Two days ago got to see a new dermo within five minutes he gave me a diagnosis after two and half months!! he said ai had extreme reation to tetracycline drug and that it would take a while to go away. the drug had cuased me angioneurotic odema but it would eventually go away. He gave me very strong antihistamines and i have doubled the dosage finallly i feel normal i can walk and see properly and swellings gone down no arthritic pain allthough i seem to suffer chronic fatigue. i am so angrey at what has happened to me. it seems i had been having or verging on anaphlaxis on several occasions and nobody helped or took me seriously. i have lost so much weight especially in my face developed uticaria and acne look terribly ill and drawn and aged from all the swelling. i feel i should take legal action or aswell as have the national health service to pay for councelling and corrective surgery. i cannot bear the way i look now. also my specialist doc to my rheumatologist gave me drugs that induce angioneurotis edema!! i would like to knowif there is any brand of totally safe allergy free make up?? i hope i shortly get to see someone who specialises in this field so they can give me some advice especially about emergancy precautions. at the moment i am glad to be feeling well. in a and e they put on my notes that i had a possible auttoimmune disease such as lupus which they are still looking into. this is a terrifying chronic illness which drove me out of my mind with worry at this time too. Has anyone had a similar experience or is there anything i can do.
