I was diagnosed recently with a combination of Lupus (discoid) and Lichen Planus, which is causing small bald patches to appear all over my head. This has been going on for several years now, but it took so long to diagnose - and none of the treatments that were prescribed in the meantime helped at all - that I'm afraid there may be irreversible scarring. My derm is now having me try Protopic ointment; apparently this is a medication intended to treat eczema but it's supposed to work on this type of inflammation/hair loss as well. Has anyone ever used Protopic for this kind of thing, and does it work?
