When you have a fissure or an internal hemorrhoid that was actively bleeding and then stops, do you form a scab over it as you would with a sore on the outside of your body? A doctor friend of ours said it's possible (but this isn't his area of expertise) and said he wasn't sure what would stop the bleeding if you didn't form a scab. I then questioned that, if this was so, could the scab be felt then during an exam, and he said he would think so, but again, this isn't his area of expertise and he was just voicing an opinion during conversation. Does anyone on here know if this is possible? And if not, what does stop these areas from bleeding if not a scab over the area itself?
