Hello, switched yesterday from 0.9 Premarin to .75 Climara patch. I think the premarin was causing diarreah (although I am still having it-hope it is just still in my system and on its way out!). Anyone have any tips, success stories or otherwise to share with me? Thanks! :)

I've been on the climara patch for 4 years. I feel great on it, no pms..The estrogen in climara is made to be indentical to your natural hormones, unlike premarin which is made from horse urine. It comes in 3 doses,, .25, .50,.75 and .1 mg.

When I first starting using it, it didn't last the full 7 days, by day 6 I was getting hotflashes.. My Dr changed my prescription to every 6 days and I now have no problem.

I also had a problem with the adhesive not sticking. I started cleaning the area were I was to apply the patch with alcohol..it now sticks with no problem..Its easier to remove the patch while in the shower and sometimes you will notice a gummy ring left from the patch..I use oil or lotion to remove this.

Hope you do good on the patch..post back and let us know how it goes or if you have any questions..

Thank you so much for your reply! I will try the alcohol trick when putting on my next patch. I put this patch on the wrong spot on my rear and it is all wrinkly. I went to the gyno today for an ultrasound and had the nurse look at it to see if it was still working. She told me to put it up higher on my rear or my abdomen next time. I hope it works! Again, thanks! :)

Is the Climara patch as effective?

Do you mean as effective as the premarin? I've only used the climara patch so I cant compare. But with the patch I feel as good as I did with my natural hormones,, only no pms..as long as I change on time.
