Hi, I really need some ideas. Here is my health history. I just turned 35 and had a pretty much healthy childhood. In 1999 I had my tonsils out. I have had a wbc anywhere from 13 to 16 for the past 5 1/2 years. In 2001 my platelet count was 480 but as of two months ago was 233. I'm am very tired all the time. I have had diarrhea and constipation on off for those 5 1/2 years. My joints hurt really bad and stay swollen alot of the times.I have really bad stomach spasms that put me to my knees, a cough that started this past Dec. And really bad periods that last for about 8 to ten days. I am a pre-diabetic. I have been tested for Lupus, lymes, RA, leukemia, hep., hiv, thyroid, c-reactive protein, lung scan, chest xrays, ct scan from neck to waste and the doctors are stumped. I've been to 3 different doctors in those 5 1/2 years and still no answer. Last wbc last week 15.9. Been on antibotics for month at a time and it still doesn't drop below 13. I feel like crap. I am now taking care of my grandma and have got to get better. I'm thinking along the lines of IBS, Crohns, fibromalgia, CFS any suggestions
would be greatly appreciated.LMG

fibromalgia would be my guess. However, it's only a guess.

Thanks for your replys. I have had again recently all blood work checked and all is normal except wbc. I dont take medicine regularly, however, I do have hydocodone for pain when I need it. I am reluctant to take it all the time do to worries of addiction. I looked some more on the web last night and with the severe stomach spasms and fever it pointed towards IBS. I am scheduled for a colonscopy will this show all bowel diseases like crohns and IBS, diverticulitis etc... If that comes back normal is there any other illnesses anyone can think of that it could be. This is really taking a toll on me. Thanks LMG

In the blood work was your sed rate checked. I have Crohn's and I have alot of your symptoms. The achy joints (I was tested for RA and it was neg). I have major stomach pains. And with Crohn's your immune system is always very low due to the fact that it's trying to fight the Crohn's so that means almost any cold or virys I get lasts longer than normal. HTH
