A friend of mine told me this...have any of you heard anything about this?
i'm assuming whole milk could increase the risk...?

I don't believe It. You know what the problem with this is---
I have heard over the years that too much coffee does so and so, too much spicey food does XXX, too much tea does something else and the list goes on.
I think it really has to do with the type person that eats or drinks that type food, their diet, life style and their lack of taking antioxidants that causes cell damage???
