when i went to see the urologist the other day for my kidney stone he did a prostate exam and said that my prostate was abnormaly large for my age and ordered a bunch of test!!!!!!!!!!!!! i about sht a brick i dont have any of the symtoms and have never been told this before . i guess my question is doe a large prostate mean canceer or can it be something else i would appreciate some input

No - it does not mean cancer = BUT FOLLOW UP with what ever is recommended -
I am 49 and just had a radical prostate removal for cancer - my MD suspected something - sent me to urologist - All three of us were surprised at how much cancer was present especially when I had absolutely NO SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS!!!!!!
DO WHAT THEY SAY - time spent now will save in the long run and perhaps it will spare your life!

Hi My husband is 41. He had no symtoms and no abnormal exams. his psa was 0.5. However he is very high risk because of his family history. He has just had surgery to remove the prostate.
A very good friend of mine at work just went through the same thing with her husband. he has a very enlarged prostate and his psa shot up. Biopsies were done and everything came back fine.
The best thing to do is follow through with all tests and biopsies. this way you will know what you are dealing with. The worst part was the three weeks that we had to wait for the answer.

you know 2 of my uncles on my fathers side have had prostate cancer i has passed from brain cancer but they had no symptoms until in their 50's
