View Full Version : Food allergy?

I'm being tested for food allergies, among other things currently (still waiting on the results) and I had a question.

I've been noticing that I get really extreme fatigue after eating, for about an hour.. then it'll go away. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat (sugary foods, salads, protein, carbs, etc...) either. Some days are worse than others..

I'm also experiencing abnormally low body temperatures (some mornings it's been as low as 94.5) and I've had people mention I might be lacking some digestive enzymes??

Can anyone point me in a direction to research this?? Is anyone familiar with this?

Thanks :)

Irys,

I believe the fatigue after eating is most likely a food allergy. I was always tired and groggy after eating my favorite breakfast: toast and peanut butter. It was only after I found out I was allergic to yeast and peanuts that I put 2 and 2 together! Now I enjoy rice and veggies for breakfast, and I feel like a million bucks with energy to burn!

Sorry, I can't help out with the body temp situation. Haven't read anything about that in my yeast allergy book.

I won't find out what the results are from my food allergy test until late April at my next doctors appointment. I'm a bit nervous as to what she's going to tell me I can't eat anymore! (Assuming I have a food intolerance somewhere..)

Though the fatigue I'm feeling is so exausting (if that makes sense) - it'd be nice to have some energy again.

Irys,

I was actually very anxious to find out what I was allergic to! I initially got tested for allergies to rule out the foods that were blocking my weight loss efforts. I was ready to give up whatever I had to to lose the excess weight. When I first found out it was yeast and peanuts, I'll admit I was sad. But now after losing about 10 pounds and feeling the best I have EVER felt, you couldn't pay me to eat those "poisons".

You will know exactly what I'm talking about within days of avoiding whatever it is you're allergic to. You will gain energy and a zest for life again, you'll see! :)
