this has been going on for about a year now... when my breasts are tightly squeezed around the nipple area, a dark green / blue discharge comes from the right nipple and a dark brown from the left... depending on which one you are squeezing. i have been to doctors, and am told i do not have any form of breast cancer.
but... no answers as to what causes this. the colours are apparently abnormal, and everything i have read points to cancer...
anyone have any ideas?

Have you had any exams? A physical, a mammo, a ductogram? There are of course benign conditions (e.g. benign cysts) that can cause this kind of discharge, sometimes for up to 5 years. Bilateral discharge, as in your case, is less suspicious. Also, blue/greenish discharge is mostly due to benign cysts. Things get trickier when the discharge looks pink or rusty, as this means blood in the discharge and possible cancer. What did the drs base their diagnosis of non-cancer on?

Mizzbelle,
I actually have a little experiance with this. The color of your discharge is not worrisome...the green/bluish discharge is from a benign condition, probably cysts of some sort. I had the same thing happen except I was actually having pure blood discharge, I had a mammo (which was abnormal) and a ductogram (which by the way was very painful) anyway I had a huge cyst behind my nipple so they removed it. All was well and the bloody discharge stopped for about a year...then it started again (my nipple was actually excreting by itself the bloody discharge) so I opted to have the entire duct removed.
Stay vigalant (I am sorry I can't spell today at all) and stay on top of it and if anything changes go back to the doc.
Good luck...another condition that causes your breast to have discharge is Palpalinoma (again, I can't spell, but you might want to ask your gyno/doc about it...it is a begnin condition that could POSSIBLY lead to breast cancer...empahsis on the word POSSIBLE)

i had a general exam and an ultra sound... that's it! and i had to chase after the specialist to even get any results... where they told me NOTHING and that it was nothing.. "probably just an irritation"
i have my nipples pierced, which i forgot to mention, so i thought it could be caused from this, although i've never really heard of it...
i guess it's definitely time to look into a different doctor... at the moment, it's really nothing.. you have to REALLY squeeze to get anything to come out, but it is a fair amount when you actually do (covers whole top of nipple) - i have absolutely no pain... i just want to be sure it isnt the "start" of anything...
thanks... xox

It is best to get this seen to. In case there is something less than benign there, you want to catch it as early as possible. If nothing else, get a mammo and (maybe also) a ductogram for your peace of mind.
Do keep us posted. Hope all goes well!!!
