I've been using the soap the public restrooms supply, but these soaps usually trigger headaches. I'm wondering if anyone carries there own soap around for such occasions. Is there a type of fragrance-free soap that is easy to carry around when going out into the public?

Nettle,
Actually, I just rinse thoroughly as if I were washing with soap, as I can't stand the fragrances that are in public soaps. But you've given me an idea: How about a little plastic squeeze bottle of liquid soap? I live in Germany so I can't recommend a brand name that would be available to you, but there must be liquid soaps without perfumes, and stores that cater to hikers will have little travel bottles.

Rheanna,
Great idea! I'll check a sporting goods store and see if they have special containers for carrying soap. I thought about a travel container, but thought it might leak.
I do buy a brand of liquid soap that's fragrance free. If I remember correctly, I believe that my grade schools used to dispense powdered borax as a soap. I see it in stores but it's sold as a laundry booster, so I'm not sure if my memory is correct.

You can buy soap sheets - I've seen them in drugstores. They're like those little blotting papers (for greasy skin) but you add water and they foam up. I don't know how they smell - or even if they smell - but they gotta be better than the cheap perfumy smell of public toilet soap.

Hi veggie girl,
I have considered using scent-free baby wipes and maybe this is my solution for the time being. I guess I'm just a germa-phobe and need to feel like I've washed away all of the germs. :)
Cheers,
