I am not sure if I am going through the same thing, but I have what you are describing. Lately, My periods are heavier. Large clots, and red blood. My left leg hurts, mainly in the calf to the inner left under knee. Both hurt but more on left. My left groin area and left hip and buttocks ache. I am now spotting between periods, with light cramps. Lightish brown spotting.
My mother said she went through menopause around 38. I am 36. I have been feeling "different" now for 3 to 4 years. I don't know if I am going through the change or not. My orgasms are also not the same.
I am going to post this in a seperate thread but do you experience any of this other stuff besides leg pain?

Chillijava:
Saw your post. I've been having leg/thigh/groin pains for 2 years. Finally had a laparoscopy and I have severe endometriosis. I'm hoping that the hysterectomy scheduled in May takes care of the pain. The pain is in the joint where the leg meets with the trunk of the body (hip joint). Now the pain is on the side of my hip, back, buttocks, down the calf (like sciatica). It's possible to get endometriosis in/around the sciatic nerve. My endo is on the back side of my uterus which can explain the pain. However, there are so many other possibilities. If the surgery doesn't clear it up, then it could be a host of other problems. It could be the psoas muscle (torn or abcesses), degenerative hip dysplasia-who knows. I'm seeing an orthopedic guy next week just to rule out an actual hip problem. If there's no arthritis, etc, then I'll be more hopeful that the surgery will take care of the problem. Sometimes my legs just ache so bad it about drives me crazy, so I feel for you. And pain medication hasn't really helped much. I would check on the endometriosis though, and don't let a doctor tell you that it won't cause those kinds of pains. I heard that from a specialist and suffered an additional year until I got a third opinion. The specialist told me I had cystitis basically and he didn't offer up any "cures". I recently read that endometriosis can mimic cystitis-this bozo should have checked for endo as well. Read,read,read-that's the best advice. Get as much information as you can. Good luck!

Chilijava,
I have a degenerative situation in my back (lower) which involves hip aches and that involves the pelvis area on that side (all right side for me). It is also sciatic and a massage really helps along with chiropractic care. They also told me moist heat which does help and icing when I do work out. A lot of my pms problems are aggravated by these skeletal issues for me as when we have pms that whole pelvic area is inflammed and there are so many joints and muscles there. So twinges that I feel I can relate to moviement and that degeneration that has been shown in xrays. I find that pilates helps and getting back into exercise, moderately as much as I can. Taking ibupofren seems to help the aches as well.
The longer periods you mentioned, or cramps I do understand as for me this peri stage has been like one long pms, so even when my periods are gone I still feel sometimes like it is coming again, even when I've just had it, as far as the achiness. I got mine last Monday at day 27 and this weekend felt a little of that pressure like it was coming again. It did not and I know it just happens to feel like that for me. almost like I am ovulating again. Now today i do not feel it.
