My 9yo son was sent for a "water's view" sinus xray today. The technician wouldn't let me see the film but told me (after my asking) that it was "pretty dark." She wouldn't tell me anymore because she's "not a doctor." I hate having to wait for results and this specific hospital takes weeks to get their reports out (thank you insurance company for only having a contract with them!) I don't know what that means....does infection in the sinuses show up light or dark? Son has been ill for about 6-8 weeks now...looks very allergic, but allergy testing show that symptoms pre-date the seasonal allergies. Thanks for your help! Rhonda

Hi happy--
Im not quite sure what a "waters view" sinus xray is, but I have sinus problems and when I get ct scans for them the dark (black) means that your sinuses are being properly aerated (which is good) and then the gray means that there is blockage. Im not sure if that is the case in your sons xray--but I hope it does b/c the dark means good. Good luck!

Okay...dark is good. Got it! : ) Thanks so much.
BTW- water's view is just a front view with the head tilted back slightly.
