I've had allergies fora while now and they are bothering me, itchy sore throat, watery eyes like you wouldnt believe My face feel's like it has gained 10lbs!
I have some allegra D from a sample from a doc visit a while ago and i really like it. I want to ask for more unless there is good OTC out there anyone know of any?

Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that be careful on using products that have a "D" behind the name. That means that they have a decongestant in them. This is ok for short term use, but it can cause rebound problems for long term usage. Everybody reacts different to different allergy medications. Zyrtec works best for me. If you are looking for something over the counter- try Claritin which is the brand name for loratadine. Stores like Walgreens and Walmart have their own generic version of the medication which is the exact same thing!- but much cheaper. Claritin works great for my husband and son. They do not have the allergies, though to the extent that I have. Fortunately most people don't!
Best wishes

Thanks for that info. I think i will pick up a box of that before I ask for a prescription since i dont have insurance.
I just liked that when they acted up i could take one of those and it would clear up nice, give me a dry mouth but at least i could see and breath okay. Thanks!

Claritan works for some people wonderfully, for others like me, I might as well take a sugar pill. Allegra and zyrtec are both superior IMHO. Both come in a 'D' formula and a regular formula without the decongestant.

Cool. I was reminded last night how nasty my allergies can be with the weather changing.
Im sneezing like you wouldnt believe, my eyes water until i go to sleep, my throat feels all weird, I want to scrach the heck out of my inner ears right now, my nose doesnt get to congested but i have been blowing it.
Thanks for the ideas i will get some of that clairtan the next time im near walmart, how much does that stuff cost anyway? and if they have the generic i think i will get that if its a lot.
