I had 6 implants placed in my upper gums a year ago. The prosthodontist wanted to uncover them last november, but I wasn't feeling well. I also had to get a tooth recrowned at the time, along with a root canal in Feburary. My mom recently died of cancer, after a 3 year long battle with her illness. Prior to that, I was just recovering from my own cancer scare and treatment. Fortunately, I was lucky, but my mom suffered terribly. I don't know how I was physically able to get the implants placed in my mouth, during that stressful period. I'm exhausted and don't feel well. I think it's all caught up with me. I want to wait another 6 months, before uncovering my implants, in the hope I'll feel more rested. Since my cancer scare, I tend to not heal as well and get sick more easily. My prosthodontist isn't being quite so understanding. He is impatient when I ask questions and voice my concerns about my overall health. What would you do? This is going to cost me 1000s of dollars. I'm afraid if I wait 6 months, he will refuse to fit me for my very expensive overdenture. Like I said, he does excellent work.
