My daughter has been in braces for about a month now. I took her to the orthodontist this morning and he told her she would need to wear a headgear appliance for 12 hrs every day. I never knew they still used headgear, has anyone heard of this or had it?
Thanks

My son had a pretty bad overbite, and he had to wear headgear for about a year. It really worked for him. At first he was told he would need to wear it for two years. He wore it 8-12 hours a day; after about a month, he never complained about wearing it. Today and ten years later, his teeth are still beautiful!!

kentuckywoman, does your son wear retainers still?
My son had a 90% overbite and did not have to use head gear. He actually has to get his braces put back on his bottom teeth for 6 more months. Long story. I did plan on posting a thread soon.
