Lately, My periods are heavier. Large clots, and red blood. My left leg hurts, mainly in the calf to the inner left under knee. Both hurt but more on left. My left groin area and left hip and buttocks ache. I am now spotting between periods, with light cramps. Lightish brown spotting.

My mother said she went through menopause around 38. I am 36. I have been feeling "different" now for 3 to 4 years. I don't know if I am going through the change or not. My orgasms are also not the same. I just feel different, and I am gaining lots of weight.

could be, you usually mimic your mothers menopause, and the symptoms are some of the things you will see on this board, however make an appointment to have your hormones checked with your doctor this will give you an idea.
It is always best to try and rule out any other problems it might be
Good luck and keep the board posted with your progress

I have similar symptoms. The leg etc. and I would say it is something related to menopause. I am 45 and still having periods. Might be nice to get it over with early in my mind. I am told I could go on for a long time ....

Thanks guys. I guess I've been to the doctor so much, and they can't seem to find anything, yet, the pain is def there. The only other concern I have is this lump in my anus that won't go away. Most doctors who look say it is either a skin tag or a small hemmoroid, but it's been there for 3 years. It is near the left side as well.

I just don't see how it could be causing all the pain i feel in my body and left side.
I hope it isn't menopause, because I had hoped to have one more child. I only have one. But then again, if it is, I wish it would hurry and get over with.

Is it possible to still have kids if it is menopause, and I am still having periods?

Prior to being in actual menopause, you are in peri (or pre) menopause where you start having lots of weird symptoms. It can start as early as age 35 and can last for years! You are not in menopause until you haven't had your period for 12 months straight. Just make sure you have things checked out and anything serious is ruled out - as much as we like to blame everything on fluctuating hormones/menopause, sometimes it isn't always the case. That's what frustrating about this whole peri-meno stuff...sometimes other things can be going on with you.

Also, keep in mind, the more periods you're missing, there would be less chances of you conceiving and getting pregnant. At 36, you're at the age where most women from what I understand have to make the decision whether to have a child or not b/c as you get older, the chances get harder.

Take care,
molly

I am having the same symptoms with my periods, pelvic area, leg and hip (all on left side)!!!! I have had abdomen and pelvic ultrasound and ct scans and nothing has been found. I am only forty but I am starting to think this could be peri!!! It really has caused me so much anxiety that something really serious is wrong that I can barely function. I am trying to stay calm and listen to the doctors.
