Meathadone Help Hi all. I need some advice about meth. Anyone with success or horror stories. I am 4 days clean of a serious oxycontin habit, but I have been taking bits here and there, and I am so concerned abot relapse, and binging on othe other drugs and alcohol, and all that. But, my main question, is if there is anyone with methadone expeirences, doses, stabalizing all that.

I can understand you wishing anecdotal experiences relayed here concerning methadone but I STILL say that batting around dose info, etc. is very worrysome stuff. If anyone were to give you a possible dose and you used it and it got you in serious trouble you would wish you had seen a Dr. and a Dr. only...that is IF you were still alive to wish. I hope anyone here sharing their methadone info keeps it to exactly "how it helped me" or "how i felt on it' and leaves the dosing to the physicians. The very long half-life is not to be taken lightly.

How long is the half life? Also, what makes it so much more dangerous than all the other drugs that some people are taking very high doses of per day?

Half life of methadone can be anywhere from 15-55 hrs.

What makes it more dangerous is the distinct possibility of toxicity by accumulation. Look it up. You can read many more learned explanations than what I could write here. It is a well known phenomenon.

Being addicted to oxy is no joke.
Methadone is used by lots of people to kick oxy. A good friend of mine used meth to kick oxy and is clean of both substances still today.
I think he took methadose pills, and they came in 10 mg.....the most he ever needed was like 4 a day and believe me ...he had one HELL of an addiction going on. He was taking 30+ a day!!!!! Start at the smallest increment and then work your way up as you feel like crap. Dallas Alice is a poster that is on meth.....i wish she would pop in.....
Are you planning on using this as maintenance or just for a couple of weeks while detoxing????
Look into suboxone too, some have used darvocets or ultram too......do some research. I always preferred cold turkey, so i could REMEMBER the hell those dam pills brought me.
I had to jump down from oxy to percocet, then percocet to vicodin 5/500 then darvocets,
That was really long and dragged out but i suffered minimal w/d....i think i tapered over a period of like a month. I would feel some "mini-w/d" each time i dropped down a dose or changed pills....
Well let me know what you find. keep me updated, i am curious what route you take

hey everyone....yeah, I am not trying to take meth on my own, i am away of the dangers, espically when you get into the really high doses. I am seeing a doctor at the meth clinic. but there are so many people trying to talk me out of it. they are saying its the worst thing they ever did, etc etc, and its a trap. I am really batttling this oxy habit this time around. last year at this time i quit cold turkey, and i dont really know how the hell i did it. I cant seem to do it this time, and i was hoping the meth, could get me off of it for now, and i could go from there. I started 25 mgs, today, liquid, and it has done hardly anything for me. I am hurtin bad, and i am trying like a mad man to get some oxys, with little luck. I just feel like i cant do anything without these damn pills.

A doctor in my area got pinched for over prescribing, and has lost his licence. everyone is this area is going mental, and there are no pills anywhere, and if they are around, they are killer on the price. This i am glad about, cause i dont really want them, but i do. you know. I was hoping someone here had something good to say about the meth, and hopefully, someone, who was on, and is now off...
