Hello all. I'm considering LASIK and am wondering how long post-op you use special drops or what not. The reason I'm asking is that I mostly like will get the procedure done here in Korea (where i currently live), but I'm heading back to the States in August. So will I have to hook up with another doctor when I get back to the States?
Thanks for your help.

After my Lasik I think I used drop that could be bought in any store, they just said they could not have a perservative in it (They came in a box and had individual packaging and were about 30 to a pack) I had my Lasik done in 2000 so I don't know what they suggest these days.
Good Luck and enjoy your new life without glasses :)

ayla3,
There are 2 vials of drops that your doctor has you use for one week post op. You will have a prescription for one and they will probably give you the other. The prescription is an antibiotic and the one they give you is an anti-inflamatory. The anti-inflammatory will make you slightly blurry for about a minute or 2 after you put it in. You won't need to purchase anymore after the week is up unless your doctor is unhappy with where how healed you are post op. I think the only reasons you would need more would be if you had an infection or your eyes were inflamed. As long as you use the drops as suggested, you should be fine. As for the lubricating drops, any grocery store in the states sells them. Or pharmacy like CVS, Eckerd, Walgreens, pretty much everywhere you buy products like food, meds, etc...The only thing you will have to look for, like EastVegas said, is that the drops are non-preserved or preservative free. Systane is the brand that I use right now but, they have both preserved and non-preserved. Just make sure you read the packaging and you will be fine.
Good luck and happy great eyesight!
