Those of you will allergies....do you all get body aches as well when your allergies are acting up? Has anyone's doctor ever confirmed that allergies can do this?

I definately get the body aches during an allergy attack. I always thought that I was getting a lot of colds that would only last a couple of days or even one day. I then realized that it was only allergies with really bad body aches. It stinks because no one seems to understand how horrible I feel.

Rouge,

Did your Dr. tell you that allergies caused you to feel that way or did you just see a pattern with it?

My doctor has confirmed that wheat apparently causes inflamation in my joints. I shared with her how I elleviated bread/wheat after exhaustive research online about my horrible stabbing joint pains. After elleviating bread, the stabbing pains have not come back for almost two years. My doctor, a wonderful female internal medicine doctor, was proud of me that I did so much reasearch and diagnosed myself correctly with inflamation in my joints. The problems were so bad that if I would pivot and turn, the pain was horrible. Also, if I sat at the computer, and just moved and adjusted my weight on the seat, I would get such horrendous pains sometimes that once I just cried out in agony. I no longer have that happen. I am very wheat sensitive. The wheat now causes other intestinal problems if I eat it. I don't consume a lot of it... I cheat sometimes and pay the price with the intestinal problems, but it doesn't make the stabbing pains come back. But I do get achy without the stabbing joint pains though. I'd be better off not ever touching the stuff again, but it's so hard.

I just noticed a pattern with it.

My allergist has done nothing to help with my allergies except prescribe Zyretc. He kept giving me nasal sprays which made me sneeze for a hour after I used them. I do need to make an appointment with someone better maybe an ENT specialist. I will have to mention the body ache probem.

Do you find it hard to not eat the wheat and gluten products? I am having such a hard time. Because of my gallstones, I did some research on detoxing and flushes. Through trial and error, I found that every time I eat wheat, corn products I get horrible sinus problems, my throat gets all gacky, I get bloated, and realize that I have joint pain, am tired, have headaches. I just am having such a hard time staying away from the wheat. I was able to get away from the things that cause my gallbladder problems, but can't seem to get away from the wheat. I know better, but seem to have no willpower. I had testing for the celiac, a stool sample test, and it came back negative. But as someone else said above, celiac usually shows when there is damage to the intestine. I know when I did not eat the gluten products for three weeks, I felt great. And then of course, slowly fell back into the habit of 'cheating'. Anyone have any tips, ideas? It is so expensive to go to the health food store and buy the things there; we are on a pretty tight budget. Thanks...
