Hey people,
I'm 17 years old and at this age Wisdom teeth come out. Well I have impacted teeth and 2-3 weeks ago I had experienced abit of pain, on the right bottom Wisdom tooth. On the right bottom corner of the mouth when i started eating, i started feeling abit of pain. Well anyways, I thought it would go away and i didnt really think too much about it until today. It only hurts when i eat at the back right bottom corner. When i looked in the mirror, I saw abit of white tooth which is probably the sign that abit of the impacted tooth has come out and that is causing the pain. Anyways, I have come here to ask what I should do? Should i leave it and wait for it too fully erupt or what? Should i go to the dentist and get it removed. I mean theres not alot of pain but Im just wondering if this will get better or worst. Anyways, thanks for the help.

Have you had braces or has your orthodontist done xrays of your mouth? If so, he/she should know whether or not the wisdom teeth will have to come out. If you've never had full mouth xrays, you should probably get them done. Check with either your dentist or your orthodontist. They can decide what to do. Your teeth don't necessarily have to come through before they remove them. My daughter had all four of hers out BEFORE they erupted. And, by the way, she did great--went out that night with her friends for a milkshake! lol

Nope, I've never had braces. I've had x-rays about 9 months ago and it showed that i had 2 impacted teeth. So, I have discovered recently that i have had abit of pain and that the tooth is coming out so I just wanted to ask on what I should do. Like, I guess with any erupting tooth abit of pain comes and then dissapears but with an erupting impacted tooth, Will the pain go away after a while? Thanks for replying :)

I don't suppose it'll hurt to wait and see what happens, but if the pain continues I would suggest calling your dentist. You might try ibuprofen for the pain you're experiencing now.

Do you know what direction the teeth are facing? Are they (according to xrays) coming in right or are they sideways? I had some pain when mine came in around the age of 20 and didn't have mine out until I was 30 (last year). Mine were out because I had a hole to develop in the one that was in right. The other 2 (only had 3) were in sideways but didn't bother me. The oral surgeon took all 3 out while I was asleep and it was a total shock to me. I only planned for the one tooth but he took all 3 out for the price of 1. Do have you an appointment in the near future to discuss it with your dentist? If you do need them out, ask to be put to sleep. It wasn't nearly as bad to me as I was lead it to be.
