I'm seriously trying to cleanse the candida from my body. I've tried cleansing before and while things work short term even drastic change of diet etc it's still there.
Over the weekend I stumbled accross an article that 85% of us are unaware that we are host to parasites and these rob us of the good bacteria allowing candida to thrive and grow.
Also my very big vice is chocolate. I crave the stuff morning noon and night which is a problem when candida and parasites and craving chocolate on my behalf.
My question is if anyone has tried a parasite cleanse and if so is it unpleasant if at all - and did it work.

I actually haven't tried a parasite cleanse, and I'm sure that I most likely do have parasites with the 10 animals I have coming in and out. I've read that really raises your risks for the nasty things. Anyway, my naturopathic doctor mentioned a parasite program the other day, and we're going to talk more about it, and I'll let you know my experience if I do, in fact, do some kind of cleanse.

Betty B have you tried taking probiotics? These helped me a lot after I took almost 2 months of antibiotics to cure a chronic sinus infection. IMO the diet doesn't help much if you don't replenish the good bacteria in your body first.
I read somewhere that chocolate cravings are actually a sign of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium helps tremendously with allergy symptoms as well as PMS. I have felt a lot better since I started taking 250mg magnesium supplement daily. And I notice my chocolate cravings have diminished.

sneezydiva,
Wow, I didn't know that magnesium helps with chocolate and PMS! I'm going to start supplementing and give it a try.
Thanks,

Yeah, magnesium has really helped me. I can't remember where I read about it, but it really has helped me a lot! I hope it works for you too!

I got a parasite about 5 years ago. It wasn't pretty. I swallowed the thing in warm tap water apparently. I was sick as a dog. I had to take antibiotics to make it go away. It was yucky. To this say I'm not sure i ever got rid of it. My stomach has never been the same!
I take acidipholus all the time now and it seems to help cleanse my tummy a bit.

Well I started my yeast free diet today to try to banish the candida.
In the weight loss section there is a great thread about yeast allergies and infections.
Wish me luck.

Years ago a friend told me that iron supplements helped with chocolate cravings. She had anemia due to lack of iron.
