I want to stop...the game I play is irrelevant but let's just say that I have no control over it. I blow every month's salary on this stupid habit. For any gamblers out there, please let me know tips and ideas on how to quit...although with every addiction it's up to the individual, but any advice would be appreciated..I've hit rock bottom....give me some help...

See if there is a GA gamblers annonymous near where you live, I'm sure you can find one on line. Like any addiction admitting it is one of the first steps to recovery. Just curious did you watch any basketball over the weekend? Pretty exciting stuff.

Getting to a Gambler's Anonymos meeting is vital right now or talking to someone. Even is you vent here, you are making a start. It is hard to admit that you have a problem but you know you do, so start doing something about it as soon as you can and you will feel better......Kahlia

Hi friend yes you do need help and Quite right you should go to gamblers anonymos. Think about this "You will certainly stop gambling one day" but it is up to you to choose that day.

Good job in acknowledging the fact that you have an addiction. That's the first step, so you are moving forward.

I am a recovering compulsive gambler and can understand what you must be going through right now. Gambling addiction is very real and it is misunderstood by those who are lucky enough to be able to gamble normally. It is not something that most can overcome without some type of support. I would encourage you to check if your state has a free gambling recovery program (I live in Oregon, and we do). This program literally saved my life. I also attend G.A. meetings which help to keep me "real" with it all.
Admitting that you have a serious problem is a big step, but now you need to do something about it. There is help out there, and life can be normal again if you just take that next step. If you are like most of us before getting help, you've got nothing to lose!
