I wonder if anger is an inherited trait or a learned behavior or a core issue. Or! all of them? I can remember my father getting worked up over any little thing with little tolerance/impatience. I'm the same way. My mother is the complete opposite always spreading sunshine, always happy, even keeled. My brother is like her. This leads me to believe the possibility of it being in the genes. Now that makes me angry! (snicker)
Whaddya think? Are either of your parents prone to anger?

I think it can be both.
I recently saw a documentary where it was shown how anger can be part of your genes.
But, of course, it also can be learned.
I grew up in quite a disfunctional family.
My father had anger problems for quite a while, and my brother took it over from him.
I notice from myself that I sometimes cross the border to.
Not that I really go to far or anything.

OOOOOO...good question. I have to totally agree with hannibis, both. I can so relate to you. Wow, my dad also had/has anger problems, big time! Also, my brother has picked it up from my dad. I also cross that line of anger, but not as bad at all! I so think it's both.

http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif Yep! I agree with you both! My dad, too, had a temper, my brother had bizarre behaviors, I was always irritable and pictures I review of myself from when I was a baby (til now, not really) on up I was either crying, mad, or to hyper to pose (I was diagnosed ADD two years ago - swell) they didn't have that "back then". I'm 48 and am trying meds to balance my irritability over dumb stuff not worth the effort, but, I wonder if I'm addicted to overreacting over negative thoughts? (my dad was a "weekend" alcoholic) so, I've gone through my fair share of love affairs with addictions and have run out! ahhh yes, and then.there's.menopause just around the corner. GAWD I'm glad I live alone (and so will others, ha!). Well, onward through the fog. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif Ya'll take care, blessings - Anna
