You cant do anything to calm her down most likely. That is something she needs to learn how to do herself. If your friend is comfortable talking about it try asking her why she thinks she gets angry so easily. Once the source of the real reason she gets overly angry is known then she will be better able to help herself. Then when she is starting to get angry about something that really isnt importnat you can try just telling her theres no reason to be upset and maybe try changing the subject to a topic that is positive and interesting to her.

Maybe your friend has a deeper issue than anger. How well do you know your friend and the problems she may have at home? Sometimes, anger can be a cover-up for something for more painful that she may be dealing with in her life. I think you are doing great by being concerned, but your friend needs to be ready to open up and share what's beneath her anger. Has she been to therapy or counseling? It may help. All you can do is be helpful and understandind and most importantly, BE there when she needs you.
