I don't know a lot of this disease, but I have been experiencing symptoms that may be related to fibro or CFS. I have these symptoms that seem to come and go:
Joint pain in non-specific areas
Fatigue
Hormone fluctuations
Sensitivities to certain foods
Depresssion
Does any of this ring a bell with anyone? Thanks.

Hi April,
I live in the midwest in USA. I also have allergies and asthma. I usually am pretty energetic, but some days I just droop. No, I haven't been to the doctor. I seem to go enough with my allergies. But I think I can tell a difference in how I feel when I eat too much sugar, breads, potatoes and such? Today I have only had protein and veggies and I feel a little better. What do you make of that? Any relation to what we eat and fibro?I will definitely go seek out a doctor if I get worse, but if I can control this with what I eat (and don't eat) I will!

hi,

i have fibromyalgia and what you eat can play a part in the disease. the symptoms that you list do sound like they could be FMS, and as far as controlling it with food goes, i think that you should get a diagnosis first, i know that doctors and stuff can often be a hassle but its usually worth it in the long run. you mention sensitivities to food which could also indicate irritable bowel syndrome, might be worth reading up on this as the way you describe how carbs affect you etc seems to ring true with this. fibro is a very complex thing though and even if the food sensitivity turns out to be IBS it could just be IBS on its own or IBS as part of fibromyalgia so it's worth talking it through with a doctor. if it does turn out to be fibromyalgia and what you eat seems to be a determining factor in your health then there is a good book by Christine Craggs Hinton called the fibromyalgia healing diet (available on amazon)

hope everything works out for you.
will.

I have been official diagnosed with fibro, and I do feel somewhat better if I eat a high protien very low carb diet. I especially need to stay away from processed sugar (cake, candy,etc.). I'm not totally convinced it helps my fibro but it does help with IBS and a generally better feeling overall. But I think that is just the way my body works. I know people who can eat all the sugar and goodies they want and not have a problem or gain an once (of course I don't like those people) and they have other health conditions. I think it just depends on each individuals make up and how this wonderful disease effects you.
