I posted a few days ago under "just wondering" and did not get any responses. So... I thought I would try re-wording my problem. I have a stabbing intermittent pain in my arms and legs. It can be in my shoulder, bicep, tricep, elbow, forearm, wrist or back of hands, thighs, knees or shins. It is a deep pain and sometimes only lasts a minute or so. I seem to get this every month then it dissappears for awhile. This time it showed up during ovulation so I am wondering if it is hormonal. Could it be? I would have to sometimes describe it as a tugging deep pain. I also have sore tender breasts at the same time. It is a nagging pain and would love to know if it is due to peri(I am 42 with cycle changes and some of the 35 symptoms) or if I should be investigating something else. Thank you for your imput on this..Lesley

Hi Lesley,
Welcome! Sorry no one made a earlier response to your other post. I don't if the stabbing pain you're describing in your arms and legs similar to what I went thru. had pain in my forearm when I was going thru my peri time. My arms felt like it was burning and it was painful so I guess it was like a stabbing pain. It was like a deep pain. You are at the age where you can easily be in peri meno and this symptom you described wouldn'ts surprise me if it's hormone related. I would suggest you jot down when you start having these symptoms and see if there's any kind of pattern. If it comes/goes, it is most likely peri - but if it's constant, you might want to have it checkd out.

Take care and do keep us posted if you find out anything,
molly

Hi Molly
Thank you for the post. It is a deep pain ache and does come and go. I go through my period and the week after without it then it starts and is on and off all day the rest of the cycle. It is a pain that is hard to describe it does not feel muscular most times but almost in an area you can point right at the spot that is hurting. A burning tearing pain is a good description like you said. It is crazy that your arms would be affected by hormones. Oh joy the female body!! I know I have other symptoms of peri like I mentioned...cycle changes, twitching, and that formication(thats awful) so I guess this is it.....OH yeah!! Thanks again.....just could not believe limb pain could be hormones...Lesley
