im taking lorazepam twice daily. wouldd it be a good choice to change to zoloft? and what benefits would i get from zoloft?

lorazepam is a valium type med, its probably not good to take it daily for a long time but this would depend on the dose

zoloft is an antidepressant and works in a different way, needs to be taken daily for 2 to 6 weeks before it starts to work properly, sometimes it doesnt work or works for a while then stops, if it does work, it will reduce your anxiety better than the lorazepam, IMO, generic prozac is very similar and probably cheaper

stay on the lorazepam if starting the zoloft as it helps to reduce any early side effects, eventually if the zoloft works, you will need little or no lorazepam

as always with meds for anxiety it helps to learn to relax and to exercise more, long walks are especially relaxing

thanks for the information. im taking 0.5mg twice daily. does zoloft treat the problem or does it just cover it up?
