I have been suffering from dizziness since Dec. 2002. I've had CT scans of the brain, had an MRI of the brain monday (no results yet), blood work, balance check, etc...all came back normal, I'll get the MRI results May 5th but since the CT scan with contrast was normal, I'm convinced the MRI will be normal too. I am just wondering if these tests can detect a blood clot because I read that clots can cause dizziness? I have been diagnosed with panic/anxiety disorder, and I know that causes dizziness itself but it all started from having dizzy spells.

Yes I think a cat scan with contrast will tell is there is a blood clot, but did they do the whole body or just certain parts of it? and an mri will also tell. they found my clots in the lungs with an xray and then went on to do a VQ scan, the clots were in my leg and went to my lungs, and I never had a clue about one in my leg till it was to late and they were in my lungs and I was in ICU for 7 days. but yes to your answer about the test.

Thanks for the reply! The scan was of the brain only. I was seen by a cardiologist yesterday who has me on a 24 hour heart monitor and he did an ECG (I've had two ECG's, both normal) and will do blood work and stress test, plus an echocardiogram next week so maybe he can help me out or at least ease my mind about a possible blood clot. You're info has helped alot and I appreciate it! Thanks again!
