Donna,
I have had PVD (peripheral vascular disease) for about 5 years now and I can explicitly tell you that the symptoms you are feeling seem to be some kind of blood clot encasement. Meaning, blood is clotting in one specific area, but given time and rest it will disapate. Now I am no doctor, so please do not take my word for it, but since I have PVD, I have what is called moving blood clots. When you have a actual blood clot that does not disappate, it is excruitiating - blocking the blood flow like a stopped up sink which makes my leg swell, feels cold to the touch and turns blue. Like I said, it is excrutiating. Feels like a charlie horse 10x worse. Plus, it also feels like your leg will explode at any minute. I have to have my clots removed because they do not disapate. I do have a degree as a medical assistance, so am rather informed on the disease. If you have any questions, or just need someone to chat with when you go through one of your "episodes" please feel free to contact me. Keep your leg elevated as much as possible and have your doctor do PT/INR's on you to check you blood thickness. Keep using the heating pad and if you are not on blood thinners, talk to your dotcor about takinga aspirin a day which will help thin your blood somewhat so the symptoms might improve. Good luck. Keep in touch. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif

Donna, if you haven't seen your doctor about this yet, do it now. It may be nothing, yes. But, sometimes blood clots that form in the groin area can get very serious very fast. A clot that forms in the groin can obstruct blood circulation to/from your leg. Or it can break off and travel. My aunt had a clot form in the groin area, and she ended up in emergency surgery to remove the clot because there wasn't time to dissolve it with blood thinners. Don't take any chances. Have it checked.

Hi. I have a good friend who also has anticardiolipin. And since she has found out, her OB says as soon as she finds out she is pregnant, she has to immediately make an appt. with her OB. Then she starts taking shots of Heparin. I'm not sure what the Heparin is for, as I haven't studied all this.
So she found out she had anticardiolipin while PG w/her 4th child. I do remember that even in the beginning of this 4th pregnancy, her legs ached much in the same manner you described. This leg pain prompted her to be seen by her doctor; she found out she had anticardiolipin. So I'm just curious...you're not PG are you?

Hello Donna, I have a question for you. How long has this been going on? I in in a situation also and I have been trying to find information on it. I have had a lump on my groin area for almost two years now. It will swell up real big and then go down to almost nothing at sometimes. It is blue and tender. I had my gyno look at it one year and she said it was nothing to worry about and that it was probably my lymph node that was infected. Well, after two years, I would think it would have gone down. I am just afraid of it being a blood clot, because when it does get big, It hurts so I cant walk and it is a shooting pain. I guess I would just like to see if you have found out anything on your situation to see if mine is simaliar.
Thank you
