If you are gaining weight on bc, would it be easier to lose if you stopped taking it early on? I have gained 15 in two months and am going off it tomorrow and back on my Depo which I did not gain weight on. I am working out now which I couldn't do before b/c of restrictions from my spinal fusion. I was just wondering if that could help-going off the pill.

In most women, the weight doesn't just fall off after they've used the pill. Like all weight loss, you'll have to work at it through a proper diet and regular exercise.

Yeah, I know that but I was wondering if going off what made you gain would make it easier to lose. I am working out as much as I can and watching my diet. I can only do so much.

Mel1977, your weight will start to come off after leaving the pill behind. And if your diet and work out program is together...well it should be no problem. I'm off the pill for a few and have been able to drop the first of the lbs that the pill helped to pile on

glad to hear you were able to lose some bajan. I am getting ready to do my aerobics as we speak. Starting work tomorrow too so that should help. I will be a little more active than I have been the past 8 months since I went on disability. Thanks btw for sharing.

it's hard to say if the weight will come off after the pill. But, I did notice that you mention about going back on depo. Weight gain is one of the most common side effects with depo, even if you use it in the past, you might gain it now. Good luck on what you choose.

I am pretty sure I won't gain on depo, over the eleven years I was on it I went off two times for a few months and six months another time and each time gained no weight. I think I just handle it better-but didn't handle the seasonale. Only time will tell, I can only HOPE my guess is right.
