OK about two - three months ago I noticed a lump behind my left ear. It was so hard I thought it was just part of my occipital bone. Apparently it isn't. It is >1.0 cm but <2.0 cm. About two weeks ago a second lump appeared, the size of a pea, hard, non-tender and slightly moveable, right on top of the first node. The first lump is fixed and non-tender. I saw the ENT yesterday and his comments were that I am not at high risk for lymphoma or squamous cell carcinoma because of my age - 29 and gender - F. But he said we will watch it for another two to three weeks and if it is still there we will remove them both. My family doctor is who sent me to the ENT - she said it was something to be worried about because of the length of time it has been there and the fact that it is hard and fixed. I would really appreciate any stories from other individuals who have had this node bioposied, whether they were in fact malignant or not. Not surei f I am supposed to be freaked out or not. Thank you for any help you can give.

I waited to respond in case anyone was able to specifically answer your question. I have not had that experience, but do encourage you to investigate it. It never hurts to be preventive in taking care of your health. Good luck on your findings!!!

Hi. I also have a hard, not painful, small lump behind my left ear. I believe it is on/ very near the bone. In fact, when I felt felt it, I also thought it was just part of the bone. My doctor said she does not believe it is a swollen gland, but that it appears to be a cyst.

I have no other symptoms except for vague aches and pains around my chest, breast, underarm area. My doctor did not find any other lumps.

Just searching for answers and hoping/ praying that it is nothing serious.

Good luck to everyone else with lumps behind ears. Hoping that everything turns out just fine.
